DAY 1 Missouri
Today, we board our motorcoach as we begin our tour to Yellowstone.
The great fire in 1988 created an interesting mosaic landscape. Two-thirds
of the trees in the park did not burn. Tonight we have reservations in
Independence, MO. Dinner is at the motel Kick Back!
DAY 2 Corn Palace
From Missouri we travel north to Mitchell, SD. where we visit the historic
Corn Palace. The palace is decorated each year with murals made of
colored corn and grasses.
DAY 3 Badlands, Mt. Rushmore
This morning we travel to the Badlands, and see the sights along the
38-mile drive. . Another highlight will be the 38-mile drive through the Badlands. Our next stop is the famous Wall Drug, which is a major tourist stop, which began by giving free ice water to travelers. Tonight, we will be at Mt. Rushmore to see it after dark. Mt. Rushmore is one of America’s most
impressive monuments. The head of four presidents has been sculpted in 6,000-foot granite
mountain. Tonight’s reservations are in Keystone.
DAY 4 Crazy Horse
This morning we travel to the small town of Custer where we visit the Crazy Monument! The
giant mountain sculpture was begun by Korezak Ziolkowski at the request of Lakota chief, and
represents the North American Indians of all tribes. Upon completion, the in-the-round figure of
Crazy Horse astride his horse will be 563 feet high and 641 feet long, the largest statue in the
world. Tonight we have reservations in Sheridan, WY.
DAY 5 Battle of Little Big Horn
Today, we leave Wyoming and enter into Montana, where we spend the next two nights. This
afternoon we visit the Battle of the Little Big Horn, where in June 1876
Lt. Col. George Custer and 210 men of the 7th Calvary under the
command of Custer made their last stand. We spend the next two
nights at the 320 Guest Ranch, which began in 1898. This is a
working Guest Ranch, we arrive late in the day for dinner.
DAY 6 Guest Ranch
Today, sit back and relax or you can go into town to shop or for a fee
you can take fly fishing lessons or take a horse back ride! Tonight we
have a chuckwagon Bar-B-Que. dinner. This is a great way to end our
last night at the Guest Ranch.
DAY 7 Yellowstone
We enter the west gate of Yellowstone, America’s First National Park. An official park guide
will take us on a tour of Yellowstone. We will see Old Faithful, erupt on schedule. Lodging is
in West Yellowstone, Dinner is included!
DAY 8 Teton National Park and Scenic Float Trip
This morning we leave Yellowstone and enter the Grand Teton National Park, where we see
the Tetons. This afternoon we board our rafts on the scenic portion of the Snake River. We
spend the next two nights in Jackson Hole.
DAY 9 TRAM/Bar J
This morning we travel to the ski area where we get another view of the Teton’s from the tram
that goes up the mountain for the scenic view. This afternoon and tonight are yours to enjoy
Jackson Hole! Tonight, we are in for a treat at the Bar J Chuckwagon and show!
DAY 10 Snowy Range
This morning, we leave the Tetons and travel toward Rawlins, where on the east side we travel to
the Snowy Range where we enjoy the view. Tonight we have reservations in Laramie.
DAY 11 Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park
Today, we enter the Colorado Rockies. We travel to Rock Mountain National Park which has
76 peaks that reach 12,000 feet or higher. Tonight we have reservations in Loveland.
DAY 12 State Capitol
This morning we travel to Denver where we visit the State Capitol. This afternoon we travel to
Hays, where we have reservations for the night.
DAY 13 Eisenhower Home
This morning, we travel to Abilene, the boyhood home of former President Eisenhower. At
the visitor center we see the film, tour the home and see the museum. Tonight’s reservations are
in Columbia, MO we have a farewell meal.
DAY 14 Home
All too soon the Yellowstone experience is over. Our motorcoach returns home and we have
wonderful memories of our thirteen days together.
